O poor children

I see in the news the other day, children in a school

Strangers with guns.. shooting and theatenings

Babies and children, watching parents shot

To try to protect the precious

Terrified, crying, hungry and thirsty

O poor children

Where the Sahara sun is hot and dry

Innocence is lost.. grown men with guns

Mothers and fathers killed before babes eyes

Their homes and villages no longer safe

Battered, bruised, hungry and thirsty

O poor children

The Forgotten Kiss

The memory of you kiss is fading

The heat of the moment forgotten

The glimpse was intimidatingly intense

Paths neither crossed nor considered

For as lovers we are not yet known

Your face is not known to me

Is it a glimpse of what is to come?

Daunting and Passionate..

Who are you, and who will I become

These dreams..

Are they a curse or are they a blessing
